DRAFT — lawyer review required
This page captures Tuur’s intended policy in plain language to brief a lawyer. It has not been reviewed by counsel and must not be relied upon as legal advice. [TODO: review] tags mark questions for counsel.
What guides can and can’t list on Tuur. These rules exist to protect travellers and other guides; ignoring them can get a listing removed or an account suspended.
Tuur is for independent guides who personally lead tours. Listings from agencies, OTAs that don’t guide, or pure-aggregator businesses aren’t allowed.TODO: confirm we can refuse business customers without violating EU services-free-movement rules; we can — for a niche directory this is normal
Profile facts (name, city, languages, qualifications) and tour details (price, duration, meeting point, what’s included) must be correct and current. Misleading prices, fake qualifications, or AI-generated photos that aren’t of you are not allowed.
Tours must be legal where they happen. If a city requires guide licensing (e.g. parts of Italy, Greece, some German cities), you must hold the licence and we may ask for proof.
Tuur doesn’t take a cut. You set your own price, and the tour payment goes directly between you and the traveller. We don’t process tour payments. The price you show on Tuur must be the same one you charge the traveller — bait-and-switch is not allowed.TODO: UCPD compliance — if a guide displays a price on Tuur and charges more in reality, who is liable? Confirm our duty-of-care as the directory.
You can’t list tours that:
Reviews come from people who say they took the tour. You can respond publicly to a review but can’t threaten reviewers, offer incentives to remove negative reviews, or post reviews of yourself.
Travellers contact you through the platform. You must respond in a reasonable time (within 7 days is the target). Spamming, harvesting email addresses for non-tour purposes, or upselling unrelated services is not allowed.
For minor issues we’ll warn you and ask you to fix it. For serious breaches (fraud, illegal content, safety) we may suspend or close the account immediately. We retain a copy of removed content for the period stated in the data-retention schedule.
To report a listing that breaks these rules, email hello@tuur.guide. We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours.TODO: DSA Art. 16 notice-and-action mechanism — confirm form requirements (email + structured form?), turnaround SLAs, transparency reporting if we cross thresholds
